It's been a pretty gloomy week overall. I've been messing around with my DSLR camera, and snapped these pics in manual setting under cloudy skies. I've never taken a photography class. But, I've been experimenting and applying everything I've learned from photographer friends as well as various websites. Please let me know what ya think? Tips and questions are always welcome!
Have you tried anything new lately?

Love the pics. Photo classes are getting expensive so I am constantly experimenting too.
ReplyDeleteI don't even want to know how much it costs. Yikes! I was hoping to take a basic class. But, not sure if I can fit time in. Where did you go, if you don't mind me asking?
DeleteNow you know I didn't go anywhere! I'm trying to teach myself. I'm not much of a reader or video watcher so I'm stuck just experimenting with settings.
DeleteWhat a doll! She looks just like your husband. :D
ReplyDeleteManual shooting with children is always a challenge BECAUSE THEY NEVER SIT STILL lol. In my opinion, it's ok to use auto when photographing kids because of that. Sometimes it's better to get that cute smile, than trying to adjust your settings, and miss the moment. Depending on your camera, you may even have a mode just for capturing kids. I think it's easier to practice manual shooting on still objects like flowers, buildings, eyc because they are so cooperative lol. You did a great job!
Thanks Amerie! Yea, she does look like her dad. I have a Canon T2i. Most times I shoot in CA mode which offers more flexibility while allowing for blurred background.
