My Hair Discovery & Thoughts on Eco Styler Gel

Every now and again I'd spot some left of straight ends and snip away.  One day I got a little too scissor happy.  Plus, check out my latest find for taming my edges.

What do you use to tame your edges?

I have yet to use that gel, I should.

I don't use anything to tame my edges, lol. They are usually a mess!

As fellow natural girl, I must say you look fabulous with your natural do! I think it really suits you well and I am glad that you've been enjoying your journey:). As for the eco-styler gel, I use it faithfully!!! I haven't used the version that you have, but I use the yellow one with argan oil in it. It has a superior hold and is great for my edges (I bun my hair most of the time). The only downside is the fact that it does have flaking potential, but I easily eliminate that by simply re-wetting the base of my head. I've also tried the olive oil one a few times....not my favorite because of the really light hold. I prefer a stronger hold on my edges (another fav product of mine is "edge control"), but some may like it on their ends. Good luck with your product adventures!

I'm currently transitioning from relaxed to natural. I'm almost 3 months post relaxer and I cannot get a comb through my roots! I have no idea what to do with my hair. My edges are also very unruly. I'm going to have to purchase this product. By the way, your hair looks great and it looks like it's grown since you've cut it!

I didn't either for a long night. But, they've recently been getting out of control. lol

Thanks! I haven't seen the argan oil version. I'll look for it next time I go to the drug store. How long have you been natural? I can't wait to be able to put my hair in a bun. It's super short. I am trying to find cute hats to wear during the winter. That would be another protective styling option.

Good for you! This only cost me 4 bucks. Thanks! I actually measured it the other day. It's 4 inches long!

I think I'm just going to wear my hair up in a bun until it grows out of the relaxer. I've done some research last night and discovered that garlic shampoo and conditioner is excellent for managing transitioning hair! I purchased the eco-styler gel today and I cannot wait to try it out!

I've never used it, but I solved my edges problem by wearing my hair in cornrows for the time being while I'm transitioning. My last relaxer was some time in June, and last week I just got tired of ripping out my hair when I tried to comb my roots. It's all back and I can wear the ends in a bun or a detachable ponytail so that I can still look professional for work.

I got my last perm 2 years and 4 months ago. I transitioned by leaving my hair in a bun for about 6-8 months before I big chopped. Obviously, I have no problem wearing the same hairstyle for a while lol. In just a couple of years my hair has grown a little past my shoulders, so I think minimal manipulation is best for hair growth. Yeah, hats or beenies are great too. If you don't find any to your liking in stores, perhaps there are some cute options online.

That works! I can't wait to be able to put mine in a bun again. I can't even add a piece yet. haha. The less you fuss with your hair, the more it grows. You've definitely got the right idea!
